Job Title: Operator Foreman – Manhole & Catch Basin Replacement/Repair
Location: Homestead, Fl
Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Operator Foreman to lead a crew focused on the replacement and repair of manholes and catch basins. This hands-on leadership role requires strong operational knowledge of heavy equipment, excavation practices, site safety, and underground utility systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing evaluations—specifically measuring and assessing manholes and streets—as well as a solid leadership background.
You will be responsible for managing daily jobsite operations while ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a crew in the replacement and repair of manholes and catch basins
Operate and direct the use of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, and dozers
Perform evaluations of manholes and streets as part of planning and quality control
Oversee safe excavation and backfilling processes with a deep understanding of underground utility systems
Coordinate material deliveries and ensure proper equipment is on-site and in working condition
Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
Ensure work complies with project specifications, safety regulations, and company standards
Perform quality checks and maintain detailed daily logs and reports
Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors
Train and mentor crew members on procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols
Troubleshoot issues on-site and provide practical, timely solutions
Qualifications:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in utility construction or municipal infrastructure repair
Strong leadership background with prior foreman or crew lead experience
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience operating excavators, skid steers, and dozers
Proven ability to conduct field evaluations of infrastructure, including manholes and streets
Comprehensive understanding of underground utility layouts, safety risks, and handling procedures
Familiarity with confined space entry and trench safety practices
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
Ability to read construction blueprints and interpret utility markings
Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
